'The UK has persuaded EU chiefs to SUE Argentina over its repeated attacks on British business.
It comes after Argie firms were told to stop buying UK imports - as tensions rise 30 years after the Falklands War.
Tory MEP Robert Sturdy demanded action against the "illegal" practices. He said if the EU wins its case, Argentina will face "very serious trade sanctions".'
1. Are we to believe that we are so weak that we can't do this for ourselves?
2. Who will use this as political capital during the propaganda assault for an in/out referendum?
3. Who the hell is Robert Sturdy?
4. I note that the word illegal is in quotation marks.
5. If we are that weak globaly, then this and previous governments really have hard questions to answer.

Retail giants in the UK are expected to make as much as £700 million in additional profits if a minimum price for alcohol drinks is introduced, new beer industry research has claimed.

The Institute of Fiscal Studies assessed the impact of a 45p minimum price per unit of alcohol, recently proposed by the Scottish government as part of its alcohol bill, aimed at tackling misuse of the substance.

"We estimate that a minimum price of 45p per unit of alcohol would results in large transfers to alcohol producers and off-license retailers; of the order of £700m if rolled out across Britain," the organisation announced.

It went on to say that Tesco would be the greatest beneficiary, with potential gains in the region of £230 million, followed by Asda and Sainsbury's, with anticipated profit boosts of £130 million and £100 million respectively.

Last week, beer industry research from the Institute of Alcohol Studies found that adding warning labels to the packaging of alcoholic beverages could be a "useful educational" tool to battle excessive consumption".
